A worthy replacement for one of life’s most essential kitchen appliances. Melitta Mill and Brew were once owned by us. The sound of the timer starting and the smell of coffee in the bedroom. All of us who loved those machines will be able to use the Black and Decker 12 Cup. A nice looking unit that looks like solid construction is out of the box. The Melitta was quiet and easy to set up. The grinder basket has a better design. It worked perfectly in the week we owned it. I found the program modes easy to understand and quickly zeroed in on the perfect ratio of beans and water. Having first hand knowledge of another brand’s poor reliability record making a mill and brew, I can’t express how happy I am that Black and Decker looks like they really hit a home run with this one.

I bought this about 4 months ago and it has a lot of build-up. I like coffee that is strong but it is hard to clean because of the plastic on the bottom. Where can I find another one?

You used to grind fresh ground coffee in the coffee maker the night before, or you would grind it several nights in a row and place it in a can, but now it’s no longer “fresh ground”, this machine is great. Highly recommend it! The pot has a safety feature that won’t let it grind or brew if the top isn’t closed, and it also has a pin on it that closes the basket and a switch that lets it run. The light will blink if it’s not pressed. You will wake up in the morning disappointed if you have it on a timer. It’s going to work in the morning if the next release has a ready light. I hope the customer service department will help me by providing replacement parts for other’s on this forum. I tried to email the indicated email address but never heard back so maybe the only way to get through is to post here! Please email me and let me know how we can get this replacement part. Thanks.

I bought the Mill and brew last fall. It is possible to quickly make great coffee by grinding coffee beans. I like the “sneak-a-cup” feature. The carafe fell off the kitchen counter. I went online to find a replacement, but no one was available. I need to know where in South Florida I can buy a replacement carafe.

I got a machine for Christmas. It worked great for the first few weeks, but now every time it brews a third of the water ends up leaking all over the counter. I’m very disappointed to see this happen, but it appears to be a common problem according to other reviews. I wouldn’t recommend this machine.

The coffee machine has a strong feature to adjust the coffee. The grinder does a good job. There is no way to replace the broken carafe. I bought a universal carafe from the store, but it doesn’t fit our coffee maker. The machine has a “sneak a cup” feature.

I gave it to my husband for his birthday. He loves it and has been using it for several months. I wish the parts were dishwasher safe. Two of the pieces that get coffee bits on them are not, but the carafe, lid and grinder basket are dishwasher safe, and they are the hardest to get clean, so it’s not a big deal. Just a quick brush and we’re good to go. It makes great coffee and isn’t too loud for us.
