I have never owned a grinder before. This grinder is perfect for me. You set it, add your coffee beans, lock the lid in place, press the start button and it is fully automatic and stops when complete. The grind has been very consistent with no large chunks. Seems like a solid unit and comes with a cleaning brush. I love the fact that the bowl with the blade is removable to empty the contents and for cleaning. I would think it would work just as well for grinding dried herbs and possibly some seeds as well. Very pleased with this purchase!

The overall rating placed it as 5th place with the others way more expensive.

This item was purchased for tea leaf grinding. The item was shut off while grinding. The blade of this model is not as sharp as the original model because it has a brush attachment. I requested a new one. I hope the replacement has the same sharpness as the original model.

I used to own a “burr” type grinder that made more noise, but it didn’t work as well as the new Hamilton Beach model. Even for a small size, this unit will grind coffee beans to a perfect texture for press coffee makers. I can grind a whole can of beans or just enough for one brew. Storage is easy, the power cord winds and stores in the bottom of the unit, and the whole thing takes up no more space than a large drinking cup. I keep the coffee beans in the pantry. I am pleased with my purchase, it was quiet, efficient and not expensive.

I’ve purchased this grinder before but thought I’d try a different one. The Hamilton Beach custom coffee grinder was ordered after the replacement grinder was returned. This grinder has many features that others don’t. You can determine the type of grind you want, select the number of coffee cups you’re grinding for, and press the button. I enjoy the hands free grinding when beans are ground. If you buy this one, you won’t be disappointed. The blades only last a couple of years. The grinder needs to be replaced every couple of years. This is a better grinder for the money.

I found it to be the same as advertised. It works well and has a variety of settings. It took me a while to figure out which setting is right for my needs. I don’t drink coffee. I grind the seed for my dog treats.

I like the grinder. I use it for espresso every day. Some users of espresso machines need custom ground coffee or more expensive grinder to prevent over brew or under brew of the coffee. The grinder works well in a stovetop espresso pot.
