I was so excited to get this. As soon as it came in, I tried to make chocolate chip cookies. While creaming(!), the stand mixer was walking across the counter. I tried pushing down a bit to make the suction cups engage, which really didn\’t make a difference. By the time we were adding flour, my husband had to hold it down to stop it from walking away. Also, the hole for the guard is awkward to use, so I ended up cleaning just as much flour (if not more) as I would when using a hand mixer.

When I took it out of the box, I was surprised at how light it was, but when I used the dough hook to make bread, the stand would wobble all over the place. The cups didn’t hold it down. The dough was kneaded well. I think it will do a good job of mixing and whipping and I haven’t tried to make anything else yet.

I purchased a Hamilton Beach 7 speed hand mixer. There is a booklet that tells you which paddle to use. You use different ones for different things. I make my own whipped body butter. Works well. The plastic sheild is placed on top of the mixing bowl to prevent it from splattering. Since there are holes to dump ingredients in, it really doesn’t work if you use flour. It is well placed to the counter. I have been using it for 7 months.
