My daughter and husband surprised me with a mixer that was on my wish list for a long time. It looked great sitting on my counter. It was only used a few times before it cracked. I am thankful I didn’t have to clean up a mess like so many others because I used it tonight. Kitchenaid should replace this bowl with something less fragile because I am really disappointed in it.

I wish I hadn’t bought the 5qt tilt model. The plastic piece on the bottom of the bowl has been a problem since day one. It comes loose all the time. We spent a lot of time trying to get it to work correctly. The glass bowl broke while we were mixing cake batter, despite our best efforts. It was terrifying. We ordered a ceramic bowl replacement. It looks gorgeous, but is loose and wobbly. I’m very nervous when we use it. The whisk and paddle attachment are not close to the bowl. I’m really disappointed.

The Kitchenaid Glass Bowl is a nice addition to the kitchen but it is more fragile and heavy than metal. The transparency of the glass allows for better pictures and videos of the ingredients in the bowl. If all the ingredients have been incorporated from the bottom, it’s easier to see with the glass. This bowl can be used to proof sourdough with the side markings and being able to see the air pockets. I feel that all Kitchenaid bowls should include a lid. The disposable plastic is used to cover the bowl. It’s possible to fit the bowl under the mixer to keep it clean while you store it on the countertop. The metal bowls lack the pouring spout which is useful for pouring batter and liquid. It is surprising that I have a 4. The 5 quart bowl is compatible with the mixer. The bowl is heavy due to the thickness of the glass. I have to be more careful with dropping it and hitting it against something because it is glass. The metal bowls are easier to attach to the bottom of the mixer. I like the looks of the glass bowl but it is more delicate and cumbersome than a transparent bowl and requires more care due to it being glass.

It fit perfectly and we needed it.

Each of my girls received a mixer. There is only one with a glass bowl. I loved it until the very end. The whole side of the bowl broke as the mixer was mixing cake mix. Nobody got cut. Is there a problem?

I like our new clear glass bowl because I can see the ingredients inside. All the bowls should come standard with the interior measurement markings. When we have to let the dough rest in the fridge, the lid is a plus. When it comes to quality, the bowl is sturdy and easy to clean, and that’s what I like about it. I highly recommend the KitchenAid Stand Mixer Clear Glass Bowl.

I tried this for the first time today after buying it a month ago. I didn’t look at it because it was brand new. I made cake icing. The bowl worked well. I noticed a crack in the top rim as I washed it. This is not usable. There is a chance that piece of glass could get into the mixer.

I really like the bowl, it was a gift. It’s easy to clean.
