If it had a ON/OFF switch, it would have gotten a 5 star rating. I have dehydrated herbal tea and apple mint. I used the low temp they recommended and it seemed to be taking a long time compared to my old one that only had one temp. I used the low temp for a couple hours to seal in the flavor and then went up to 135 degree temp and did very well. The frozen mix vegies turned out very nice after being dehydrate. The old model of Nesco was very quiet. Love it.

It works as intended. The heat distribution is very efficient. It was very even.

Would have given a 5 star rating but did not have a timer. It seems like food took a long time to dry. The book said 4 to 12 hours. That is a big gap. It took almost 16 hours to dry. Maybe I should have bought the more expensive machine. I will keep working on it.

A crack was received.

I was completely shocked that it only took about 2 hours to make beef jerky from 4 trays. 5 lbs. Works well.

When I was shopping for a juicer, the story was the same as when I looked at a couple of top 10 lists for dehydrators. Only to be surpassed by a $300+ Excalibur is this one. After only a week, I have dried fruit, veggies, and a pair of socks. Excellent purchase.

It is easy to clean.

The temp setting is printed on the lid so you don’t have to look it up. The heat and blower is mounted on the top so it is easy to clean. I have dehydrated apples and bananas and made deer jerky. All turned out great. IMarinated my meat in the seasoning packet for about 24 hours and it was perfect. The old style dehydrators with the heating element on the bottom are hard to clean, but this took the mess away and was worth the money.

It does what I need it to do.

The fan above the drying rack is nice. The drying temperatures were important to me. Not being dishwasher safe is not good.

When you add more than 5 trays, you have to start flipping product and rotating trays. The product is great for the average customer.

I’ve only had it for a couple weeks, but I love it. I received it days before the scheduled time. Everything was included to start. I already made banana chips which are deep fried in coconut oil, apple slices, fruit roll ups, chicken doggie treats, and my favorite, beef jerky which had 3 packs of Nesco original jerky mix. You can get more at MySaveMall. Either com or Amazon. com. There are many online recipes. It is easy to clean. I wash the trays with a scrubby. I made fruit roll ups with apple sauce and it stuck bad to the non stick trays that come with it. Don’t know what it’s about. Maybe there are other reviews that have an answer for that. It takes 3-6 hours to dry jerky, but that’s not what I’ve experienced. It took me 4 hours max with full trays. The roll ups have taken longer than that, but nothing has dried so far. There is no on/off switch for me. I could use a few more trays, but that’s not a big deal. This works great, looks nice, and is small and convenient, and in my opinion, you can’t beat the price for a product that works as well as this one. Someone is shopping for one and I hope this review helps them. I always do my research when shopping online, and this was the one I found to be the best for the money, so don’t hesitate. Have fun, I do.

I only got this for jerky, but I am now hooked on dehydrating many foods. A good dehydrator has the primary functions of the FD-75PR. You will need all 5 trays with it if you have settings for drying times and drying temperatures. I ordered 2 more for the extra area. This model is very good.
