It’s very easy to fill the big water reservoir. It was nice to have a hot coffee. I like strong coffee so I’m using the bold feature. I’m still trying to get my taste developed. I’ve used Gevalia, Braun and Krups coffee makers in the past and this Melitta is very close to the coffee taste that I am used to. The filter basket is small if you use a lot of coffee and water. So far it’s been okay, I haven’t made more than 8 cups. The plastic body of the coffee maker should be made of stronger material. I hope it won’t become an issue in the future.

It is easy to fill and clean. Excellent coffee. It’s nice to keep warm at different settings and the “take a cup” feature works great. The carafe is well balanced and has a lip holder to prevent dripping. The shut off of the 2-hour safety is important. The adjustment for more robust or regular settings for strength of coffee is a nice feature. The product is great.

I bought this coffee maker about a year ago. I was looking for a replacement for the one I had. Since I don’t want a complicated coffee maker, I chose the Melitta, which has an automatic setting so I can have fresh coffee when I get up. The price was right and I am very pleased with it. I bought my daughter’s coffee maker because I knew she would like it, even if she had a problem with it, MySaveMall would accommodate her with a replacement.

The Melitta 46893 works better than advertised, super price for the value, very hot coffee, can use less ground coffee when using the Robust settingor, and produce very nice strong coffee. The unit doesn’t burn the coffee, and brings higher end coffee to the max flavor, the heating element is why. All flavor is produced in the range of 190 to 210 degrees. The good news is the coffee POT is made of glass with a plastic lid, and pour spout with anti spill lip, it works only when holding the coffee pot at about a 40 degree angle, the problems happens when the coffee pot is held at 180 degrees to pour the last cup or I cleaned the pot very well, made sure the area was dry, and put a small amount along the plastic to glass seam and used it in the morning. Our last coffee maker was twice the cost and a name brand unit, had more problems and only lasted 14 months.

I gave up after cleaning my fourth machine, which I have tried most of the time. I love the Melitta 12-cup. I can change the strength and temperature of the bottom heater. I don’t have the variety of coffee flavors that I did with the K-cups, but I have a machine that works great and isn’t costing me. I am wondering if I will get a full cup or not. For the price, you can’t go wrong and I am very impressed with the look of the machine and the lit up display. I would recommend this to anyone.

After 8 years, our old coffee maker was replaced with a gold mesh basket filter. It wasn’t as strong as our old one, so we returned it and got this one. Coffee is better thanks to the bold strength setting and the hottest keep warm setting. Coffee is kept hot in a carafe which was part of the old unit.
