The blender is very good. You have to grind the wheat kernels in whole wheat pancakes to make them. It destroys them. It makes ice great for smoothie making. It has a lot of power. I had an osterizer for my wedding and it lasted 10 years. When my oster wore out, my husband bought me another brand, but it wasn’t very powerful. You had to buy a whole new machine when the glass pitcher broke. I chose this cheaper oster because I had good luck with osters before and you could buy replacement parts. It was more powerful than the other one. It is a great appliance. The screw on the base is plastic, so it broke after awhile, but at least I can replace it cheaply. There is a time and a place for this. 99 at Oster. com I could buy a new pitcher with the base for 10 bucks. Not bad. I think this is a great purchase.

I make 2 smoothies a day with this blender. If you put a little liquid in first, it is less noisy than I expected. I like the glass jar over the plastic ones because it’s easy to clean. The value is great.

The previous one lasted only 2 wks, but this one has lasted longer. It doesn’t do what a blender should. We have to stop and push the ingredients down when we use it. The blade is surrounded by glass at the bottom of the jar. Ice cream has a hard time getting to the bottom because the blade is in the V shape.
