I had purchased the Rival ice crusher(the more expensive one $29.95 and it worked exactly 3 times. Back it went, got online and looked for a better, heavier, way so I ended up with the Oster blender and let me tell you, that baby rocks, Ice crushes in no time flat and it makes wonderful frappachinos, smoothies. I love it. So if you need a serviceable piece that won\’t let ya down, go to the Oster Stainless steel blender. It does what it says it will do!

Don\’t purchase this if your intent is to make smoothies with frozen fruit. Will only stir any liquid on bottom of blender. Does not pull down anything into the blender blades. Expensive spoon. Would have rated it lower than a one if it was possible. Also, not brushed nickel finish but a bright chrome.

Over the course of 40 years, I thought my old, discolored Oster Blender needed an upgrade. The jar is the only part of this that is glass. They don’t make them like they used to. I’ll be keeping the old one and returning the new one.

As a child, my grandma, mom and aunts all used the same appliance. My second blender is my 16 speed one and I love it. The black plastic base of the jar was cracked when I tried to find it in stores, and I was so disappointed and upset that I couldn’t find it. This is a necessity in our home and in our culture for making sofrito and other things. Please help. I can use a lid replacement as well. Please help.

The threaded jar nut is different from the other models. The skirt makes it difficult to align the carafe with the motor.

Wow. The base won’t last very long. Cheap plastic material is awful. Too much trouble to return. Going to look for better construction. We were going to replace an Oster with this one. What a disappointment.

The blender is working well so far. I have crushed ice after making wonderful shakes. The black bottom cap is a good base for a glass jar, but it is difficult to get it threaded straight. I tightened it too tight because there wasn’t enough room for someone to grasp it. I will make sure a blender doesn’t have an overwhelming base cap. Many of their other models do not. The picture doesn’t show that it’s all one piece.

I am happy to have a smoothie maker in my house. The bottom of the appliance is hard to clean. I’m not strong enough to turn the bottom. I would recommend this appliance to anyone.

The old osterizer seems to have higher vibration than my new one. I think I’ll try a more expensive version if I have more money. The speed control is necessary on a blender of multiple items to puree to a liquid. Due to throat damage from radiation six years ago, I use my blender 4-5 times a day. My main cooking tool is my blender.

I have had this product for about six months. I make a lot of smoothies. The only problem with this one is that it has a harder time pulling a smoothie out of the top when the liquid is very thick. I usually just add more juice. I don’t think there is a reason not to buy this blender. Nothing I’ve used it for has given it a real problem. A good blender.
