I drink a lot of herbal tea and chicken and beef so I was looking for an easier option to boiling water in my tea pot. I tried the Electric Tea Kettle. It had a chemical smell when it was opened. I had to wash it 3 times because I couldn’t smell it anymore. My first kettle was full of water. I boiled to its boiling point per the kettle and my tea tasted fine, but later that day when I put the water that was left in it back on the plate to re boil, everything I used it for tasted burnt. I tried to wash it several times but the water smelled burnt and my soup tasted burnt. The cord for the heating plate is a nice utility size, but it doesn’t fit under the plate to keep it flat. You have to keep the kettle on the plate for it to sit flat because the notch on the heating plate barely holds the cord in place. Returned due to Burnt taste after boiling water. The appliance is good for the price, but they need to upgrade it to be controlled heat settings.
