The griddle does heat up. sid is hotter than the inside. To cook, you need to move food around. Does it look like it is heating a temperature setting.

It’s the perfect size for making a big breakfast. I can fit a pound of bacon. It cleans up nicely. The bad… The heating surface makes cooking difficult. It is very hot on the plug end. The tray falls out easily. If I could find one of this size with even heating, I would pay twice as much.

It was horrible when it was heated. The grill was warped in the center when it was heating up and stayed that way even at the 300 degree setting. Can you cook pancakes or eggs evenly if they flow sideways to the center from the sides? This needs to be fixed, but for now it goes back for a refund.
