It was easy to learn how to use the grill. It’s great for wraps, chicken, Steak, burgers, and shrimp. It was difficult to keep the thick bread bun in place. As it was cooking, it slipped to the front. The plate was adjusted to fit as well as possible. I’m still in the experimental stage. The Grill has non stick cooking plates. The plates are dishwasher safe. While the dirty one was in the dishwasher, I wish I had an extra set to use. For a small amount, it’s nice.

This is a great grill in this price range, and we’re very happy with it. Plates that are dishwasher safe are awesome. I don’t bother buttering/oiling the bread anymore, and we still get paninis with nice crisp outsides. Grills in this price range tend to be lighter in weight, but I’ve had no issues making excellent paninis with sourdough, ciabata and focaccia bread. I make the kids’ first so they can cool off while I make ours. It doesn’t get hot enough to burn the bread, unlike making a grilled sandwich on a stove top. The only settings we use are off and max. The floating hinge isn’t perfect, so I need to rotate the sandwiches from front to back to ensure even grilling.

I was given this and I love it. I don’t recommend buttered bread, dry bread is best, my teens are making way more delicious sandwiches and experimenting with new ingredients that they have enjoyed at restaurants, but now making themselves at home. I’m thankful for this product.

I read a lot of reviews before buying this last night. The cheese was oozing out all over the place after I finished making it. When I took the sandwiches off, I expected the cheese to stick to the grill plate. Wow! Talk about an amazing no stick. The cheese came off the grill plate when I lifted the sandwiches. There was no stuck on mess in the 2nd photo. That is amazing, no stick! The unit is smaller than I expected, but I bought it because it opens up 180 degrees for open grilling. I don’t think I’ll need it for cleaning. Before using the grill, I took the grill plates off and put them in the dishwasher. There was a complaint about not being able to see the arrow on the dial, just put a dash of white nail polish on it. Problem solved! I am very impressed with this grill. I will probably try hamburgers tomorrow. Definitely worth the money, and you will probably save money by not going through a drive through for a sandwich. Excellent job Starfrit!

The failure of the non-stick coating on recent models was one of the problems that caused the big brand grill to suffer from quality problems. The biggest complaint is that even though the top plate can be released to accommodate thicker foods it isn’t quite a big enough gap for things like dinner sausages. The short cord is common to all small appliances. It drives me crazy!

The grill seems to be sturdy and I like the fact that the rock plates are replaceable. I am pleased with the performance of the paninis I have made so far. It’s an added benefit that you can control the temperature. I read many reviews on different presses and decided on this one because of its many features and positive feedback.

This is a great product. It does what it is supposed to do. Grills with minimum effort. It is very easy to clean. I am very happy with this purchase.
