It doesn’t have enough heat to sear the sandwich with the grill marks. It’s easy to clean. I didn’t think it was effective for grilling.

I like the quality and ease of this press. It warms up quickly and evenly. The grill marks on the bread and quesadillas make the kids like them. I have not had any issues with it. I want the floating lid to be a little more floaty, but I don’t know where to find the adjustment screw. I give it a 9 out of 10. I would recommend this to a friend. It would be better if it came with a spatula for cooking and cleaning.
