The mug is easy to use and clean. The charging coaster is easy to use. There is only one complaint about the charging coaster. I have been on my 3rd in 2 years. One of the charging pin springs breaks with nearly daily use. It is the only flaw. I would have no complaints if this issue was improved.

It’s not that anything is wrong with the new purchase, but that it’s the 2nd replacement I’ve had to order because it stops working. 6 months seems to be how long it will take for these chargers to stop charging.

There is a little spring that will break, so I had to order two new charging bases because the charging contacts have worn out. This part is easy to replace without a new base. The current chargers are not good for the environment.

I have been a ember customer for a long time. After one or both of the springs that keep the charging pins up against the charging rings of the mug fail, the charging coaster will no longer reliably charge the mug. If there is a trace of water on the mug when you put it on the coaster, the lifespan could be even shorter. The mug lasts longer than this stupid thing and I have had to replace it three times. It’s not possible to disassemble the coaster to replace the faulty spring because it’s an all-in-one piece. This coaster is a representation of planned obsolescence. The mug might be decent quality, but this component is how Ember ensures you keep spending money with them, as it simply does not last.
