Our local wal-mart store has a smoothie maker that I could use to make yogurt smoothies for my daughter and I. I bought it because it had good revues and GE is usually a good brand. It worked great until last night, when I was making a smoothie for my daughter and myself, the blade was not turning, and when I pressed the button it sounded like it was running. When I removed the glass jar from the base and dumped the half blended liquids into a bowl, there were small shreds of plastic. I found out that there is a small piece of plastic on the base of the jar that makes the blades turn. The problem with the design is that the metal nut holding the blade unit together burned through the plastic piece causing the blade to stop spinning which makes the blender worthless as it turns on but can’t blend. After only owning it for a month, the cheap parts make it useless. If you plan on using it often, you should spend the extra few bucks and get a better quality blender.

The product was in the middle of the price range for blenders. After we bought it, the wife used it to make a shake and the motor wouldn’t turn over, but the lights and buttons worked the next morning. It was tried a few times to see if it would work, but no. It was very disappointing in this product.

This product is amazing. The settings are most useful in cooking. It’s the best cucumber soup. You can make great dinners, snacks and desserts if you read the instructions.
