I like my frozen margaritas made for a crowd. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on them since they are all similar. For a number of reasons, I decided to purchase this one. I don’t need 10/12/16 speeds. I need it to blend and have the ability to pulse. I need a powerful blender to make smoothie, frozen drinks, hot soups and sauces, as well as homemade peanut butter. A glass jar was what I wanted. I wanted a different gear because Black & Decker gears break often and aren’t worth replacing. I wanted to spend $50 or less. The blender won. The positive? Can you tell me about Red? My kitchen is green and white, with all white appliances, and I love that it is red. I have owned it for about three months. It works well on frozen items. They don’t have big chunks. It works because there are six rotating blades instead of four on most units. This thing is powerful. There’s no need for long blends because the gears move fast from the start. This is strong. When it’s done, I don’t get the burning smell. I’m telling you that this thing has power. I can’t blend hot sauces and soups because it’s so powerful. The pressure builds really fast when it rotates so fast. My soup went all over the kitchen when it blew the lid off twice. If you’re going to blend something hot from the dutch oven, only blend about a cup at a time, pulse it, and make sure you have a good grip on the lid. Before you pulse it a second time, make sure you open the valve at the top. It’s easy to underestimate what will happen with an immersion blender, as I’ve done it twice. There’s nothing I would change. The best blender in the price range has to be this one. It doesn’t have a lot of buttons or features, so you never use them.

It grinds up ice pretty well and I use it for making slushies. The serrated edges of the lid ensure that whatever is inside won’t spill out during operation of the applicance, which is why I am the best looking blender I’ve ever owned. I am very pleased with this purchase and would consider buying again from this manufacturer.
