This model was replaced with a stovetop kettle. Looks good. The cord was not easy to remove and left a sticky mess after being removed. There is some evidence of mineral scale on the heating surface.

I have a red kettle that has worked perfectly for 6 years, but it didn’t shut off after it started boiling. I have tried it many times. I cleaned out the connections, read the manual, and now have read all the reviews that are called q&a, they are closed on Sundays. 6 years is a long time in small appliance years, but I want to see if I can make it work correctly instead of throwing it away. Can Kitchenaid help me?

If the water is left for more than an hour, the smell and taste of plastic will be strong. The rust issue will not go away.
