The electric teapot is hotter than the kettle. It’s perfect for pour over coffee and French Press. The added benefit is that the thermometer allows for precise recipes. The design looks great in a kitchen. It’s a great gift for pour over lovers.

I can’t use the kettle for its intended purpose because I wake up at 4:00 am and work the early shift. If I use this kettle to heat my coffee water, it will sound when I start it, when I press buttons, and three times when it’s ready. Since I don’t want the rest of the family to wake me, I have to either disassemble the base and destroy the speaker or use the old tea kettle on the stove.

I received this item in exchange for a review. The kettle looks great. It’s sleek and shiny, very modern, and has a knob that can be used to remove the lid. There is a metal device that adjusts the flow rate. It has three settings, two of which are acceptable, but the lowest setting gave little more than a trickle of water, and I preferred the highest setting for the most flow. It works as you would expect of an electric kettle. The metal body of the kettle will become hot to the touch when it is filled with hot water. It certainly didn’t take forever to boil, but it wasn’t what I would call quick, either. With one switch to flip it couldn’t be easier to use, as you’d expect from Kitchenaid. The biggest complaint I have is size. I had a two liter kettle, so this one seems small. Depending on how much you make at a time, it will probably do just fine.

The small sleek metallic look is what I love about this. It wouldn’t take up a lot of space compared to my previous electric kettle, and it looks like it can last a long time. If you’re trying to avoid accidentally pouring out too much boiling water at once, the thin spout is helpful. This is perfect for my pour overs because it seems to have good pour control. I don’t have to worry about my hand getting close to the boiling water being poured out since the spout to handle distance gives me comfort. I like how the handle suits my hands and doesn’t make me feel awkward while holding the kettle or pouring it. Since awkward kettle handles make my hands feel uncomfortable and have caused me to accidentally pour out too much boiling water, I care about this. If you’re looking for a well built kettle that is both sleek and thoughtful, this is the one for you.
