This is the second machine in a year. The first one stopped working. I replaced it with the newer version that the store had. The smell I could not describe came from the unit. Run 4 pots of water through it after washing everything. The smell and taste of my coffee are still there. The machine will give you more water. No difference. I threw the box away. I have to spend more money on something else.
