This item works well and does a good job. Works as advertised. Two improvements are needed to improve my rating. Plugging in starts the motor and you have to turn it off because it doesn’t have an on-off switch. I don’t think that’s a very good design. The top part is very hot after popping. You can’t shake out the final kernels without using potholders or mitts. A design improvement would be a knob for lifting.

After reading all the positive reviews on the Presto popper, I decided to order one, even though I was thinking of getting the stir-type stove top poppers. Wow! My family loves popcorn and this is the best. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, and the price is right. There’s nothing wrong with this product. It pops large and fluffy, with no kernels left unpopped. If you love your old maids, you will be disappointed. You need to make sure you use FRESH popcorn, not stuff that’s been sitting around for 10 months, for those who have reported that the popper left several unpopped kernels. I’m sure any brand will do well, even if we used the Orville Reddenbacher popcorn. You won’t regret it if you buy it.
