This replaces an older one. It has two speeds. As long as the switch isn’t returned to off, it can be switched onto high. If the switch is not held in that position, it will return to off. Sometimes I want a blender to stay on low so I can do other things, and sometimes I want it to stay on high so I can break an egg into a jar. The batter should be mixed on a low temperature. We need that option.

Most people use 2 speeds for this blender, full throttle and pulse. It can be used to crush ice, frozen fruit, chocolate chips. It has enough power for most kitchen projects. I advise you to read the manual as I made a mistake and put all the frozen ingredients in first. It needs liquid at the bottom of the blade. I can’t wait to try some of the recipes in the booklet.

I settled on this blender because of the reviews I found at different places. The product works well and has no issues. I expected that from a workhorse. It’s first job was a green smoothie, and I thought it would need some help. I had bananas, clementines, strawberries, and two handfuls of kale. I jammed the lid on and hit it a few times after pouring water to the halfway point. I let it blend for a full minute after I turned it on. I was amazed. The resulting smoothie is better than a Vitamix. My friend owns one and I envy him.
